The location of Bai Tho Mountain

Situated in Halong city center and right on the bayside, Bai Tho Mountain, so-called Poem Mountain in English,  is a beautiful mountain overlooking Halong Bay with a height of 200 m. The mountain was originally called "Truyen Dang" (Lighthouse) implying the extreme watchtower of the Northeast gate from thousands of years ago guiding boats on the bay. In 1468, King Le Thanh Tong's poem was carved on a cliff. Truyen Dang Mountain then had been changed its name to Bai Tho Mountain.

How to move from Hanoi to Bai Tho mountain?

Bai Tho Mountain is located in Halong City, about 160km from Hanoi city, visitors can choose a variety kind of transportation such as motorbike, taxi, and VietnamSpiritTravel coach. 
  • By motorbike/ private car: If you choose to go to Bai Tho Mountain by motorbike, the nearest distance from Hanoi to Halong is 160 km, which takes about 3-5 hours. 
  • By Halong express train: Currently, to meet the demand of people to go to Halong Bay as well as Bai Tho Mountain, visitors can go by train. Halong express train departs from Gia Lam station, which costs about 15$ (foreigners) and 5$ (Vietnamese) per one-way ticket. The total time of moving from Hanoi to Halong Bay is 5 hours.
  • By public car: Another way to reach Halong Bay Vietnam is going by public car, which is always available at Nuoc Ngam, My Dinh, or Giap Bat station. The price ranges from 150 000 VND to 200 000 VND depending on the seats.
